Bike Parking for Community Events

Book our Bike (and pram) Parking for your next community event in Sydney!

How does it work?

Bike Valet Parking (or BVP) is like a coat check for bicycles. Your patrons check in their bikes with our staff and are given a claim check. Our staff guard the bikes during your event in a secure corral.

The service is perfect for festivals, street markets, and sustainability events.

We can also park prams as well.

Our service can support your sustainable transport goals and make you look good

Most event plans include a goal to reduce traffic impacts and encourage sustainable travel. But people won’t ride to events where their bikes aren’t safe. Our BVP service ensures that even accessories like lights and helmets will not be stolen. Bike riders appreciate the extra security, the friendly service and being treated as valued patrons.

Reduce traffic problems

Multitudes of private cars descending on an event means community disruption and attendees grumpy from long searches for parking. Shuttle buses and satellite parking are great, but still require a lot of space and traffic management. Given a little encouragement many patrons will come by bike, and then be pleasantly surprised when they can ride right into the event. BVP takes very little space per visitor, and the bike corral can be right at your event entrance without much impact on your event spaces.

Encourage safe cycling

We care about rider safety too. If we notice a potentially dangerous mechanical problem, we alert the rider, and can help with minor maintenance. We also love working with bike repair services at events – pairing BVP and a bike repair station makes both services better.

Keep your event tidy

Planning in advance for bike parking makes for a smoother event, and can help riders avoid locking up their bikes to fences or poles in the neighbourhood. BVP also reduces stress for your staff – rather than having to police riders, they’ll be able to provide a positive welcome to people arriving by bike.

Increase attendance

Faced with the hassles of driving and parking in the city, many people prefer to ride to local events, but can’t really enjoy themselves if they’re worried about their bikes. BVP means more will visit and stay longer.

Complete service saves you time and hassle

Our complete service means no hassles. All you need to do is mention the service in your advertising and notify your security personnel. We work with you to plan the service, and then we manage set up, take down all aspects of running the service. We can even promote your event through our social media channels.

What’s the process?

  1. Event liaison: BIKEast meets with event organisers to discuss the venue, the event, expected numbers, and any special requirements.
  2. Proposal: BIKEast submits a quotation outlining approach and costs associated with providing bike valet parking for the event.
  3. Site reconnaissance and planning: BIKEast visits the event site and prepares a site plan including suggested signage points, location and set-up of the parking, lighting requirements (if needed) and risk management plan. The site plan is submitted with our public liability insurance certificate to the event organisers for approval.
  4. Preparation: BIKEast arranges equipment and organises staff for the event.
  5. Bump-in: BIKEast’s BVP manager briefs BVP staff on procedures including risk mitigation. We coordinate delivery and set-up of the parking area as detailed in the site plan.
  6. Event parking: The BVP manager coordinates staff and provision of service across the event. Riders are welcomed by staff at the BVP entrance. They swap their bike for an individually numbered check tag. Staff advise them of closing time and wish them a good time. On return, staff swap the tag for their bike.
  7. Bump-out: BIKEast dismantles all the equipment and coordinates collection. We pack out all materials and dispose of rubbish and recycling.
  8. Report: BIKEast delivers a report to Event Organisers that details the number of bicycles parked during the event, general conditions and observations, and notes any areas of potential improvement for future events.
