Traffic Committees

What is a Traffic Committee?

Each local council has a monthly Traffic Committee set up under a delegation from NSW Roads (formerly RMS, RTA).  They are responsible for managing roads.

Meetings are not open to the public. However, residents and other members of the public may address the Committee on items that are listed on the meeting agenda.

A condition of the delegation from RMS is that the Council must take into account recommendations from the Traffic Committee.  For information about the powers and functions of Traffic Committees go to Roads and Maritime Services website.

BIKEast address the committees regarding any items that are considered important to people on bicycles.
